Crowdsourcing? just the beginning

We are only at the beginnings of crowdsourcing: the changes that Ushahidi and crowdsourcing in emergency management are bringing are new, and still they arrive nearly 10 years after Wikipedia.

Designing flows for crowdsourcing

I really appreciate Morgan Brown article on designing flows, something we have been doing for quite some time with really good results. The flows / patterns have to be designed also when it comes to using a service and even looking for content.

The challenge we have right now is to design a powerful flow that engages users in filling a huge, complex and somehow scary report. Such a flow is at the very core of the crowdsourcing project.

With Antonio we came up with an original solution based on best practices in design of user registration forms; we are now building the mockup, but we have no idea how well it might work.

Crowdsourcing

Wiki was invented in 1995, long before Wikipedia.

Crowdsourcing is as old as Wikipedia (2001), while the term crowdsourcing has been used in 2006 for the first time.
